sweet potato curtains

Jonah is doing all sorts of cool, new things that I wanted to share for all you at-home viewers. Jonah continues to put anything and everything in his mouth including gross "dirty, filthy" things like Shade's tail. He is also is very attracted to eating newspaper, books, magazines, restaurant placemats and kleenex boxes. He laughs his head off whenever we sing to him, and, believe it or not, he even enjoys his mommy's singing voice.

TV time: Jonah rarely watches television but i had the cubs sox game on last week and he was really into it.

Toys: He just loves his new activity center and still loves his kick'n'play which i like to call the McDonald's Playland. To his dismay, Jonah can no longer play in the bouncy-bouncy chair or his swing. He just climbs right outta there. Like his daddy the engineer, he studied the construction of these toys and figured out his jail break all on his own. Just wait 'til he starts dissecting the VCR and the stereos, and the video games, and the internet machine just like his Uncle Erich before him. (did i just say VCR?)

Jonah's half birthday is tomorrow and to celebrate, he showed us that he can sit on his own like a good, big boy. He needs a little help, of course, but i'm impressed and, yes, i realize i am a little biased.

As for eating, Jonah eats in his big boy high chair now, and has a taste for everything he's gotten so far--rice cereal, bananas, sweet potatoes and pears. I think he's a little allergic to the bananas. We'll have to wait and see. Jonah was so into his sweet potatoes yesterday that he smeared them all over grandma's curtains. Grandma didn't seem to mind one bit.
