Channel 11's Rick Bayless: an inspiration

We've been meaning to have people over for dinner for a long long time. Now that Jonah's here--it's finally happened. Today, Jonah met his cousins--Mia and Sienna and everyone came over for dinner. Kevin made some fancy Lamb Dish and was inspired by one of our TV friends. Kevin watches this show One Plate at a Time on WTTW Channel 11 all the time. This guy Rick Bayless is the star of the show and also owns and runs this fancypants restaurant downtown called Frontera Grill. He makes all sorts of cool Mexican dishes and jaunts down to the Yucatan all the time for inspiration for new recipes. It's kind of annoying because he's always speaking Spanish in a perfecto accent. He also annoys me because he has this perfect backyard that's huge...i mean fa-huge and there's no way there's a backyard like that in Chicago. I bet he lives somewhere fancy like Highland Park but says he lives in Chicago. But the guy can cook. Bev got Kev a Rick Bayless cookbook for Christmas and ever since, Kevin's been all about Mexican cookng. So today, Kevin went to the real nice butcher shoppe called Meat and Produce Market on Waukegan and Touhy. We highly recommend it--quality food, super cheap. It was recommended to us by Redmilla, Carol and Tuny's neighbor...She's hardcore and makes all sorts of fancy foods. Anyways, Kev did a great job with dinner--it was like we were in the Yucatan and it was real nice that everyone came over!
